With our headquarters in the USA and our operational base in Pakistan, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Managing Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Islamabad office.
The Managing Director will play a crucial role in overseeing day-to-day operations, driving performance, and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability within our offshore development group. Reporting directly to leadership in the USA, the Managing Director will be responsible for aligning the Islamabad office’s activities with the company’s overall strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the Islamabad office’s operations, including project management, quality assurance, resource management, and administrative functions.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives, including setting clear KPIs and targets for teams and individuals, with input from C-suite/Management on engineering-specific performance measures.
- Foster a culture of trust, independence, and proactive communication — where employees are expected to work autonomously while raising questions and surfacing issues early, rather than waiting or assuming.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with the USA office, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment of goals and priorities.
- Drive initiatives to improve employee retention, enhance team morale, and promote professional development opportunities.
- Oversee recruitment efforts to attract top talent, ensuring the office has the right skill sets to meet client demands and project requirements, in consultation with C-suite/Management on technical hiring standards and evaluation criteria.
- Ensure engineering teams across the office are effectively adopting AI-assisted development practices as part of standard delivery, in partnership with C-suite/Management on setting the technical standard for their use.
- Monitor project delivery timelines, budgets, and quality standards, taking proactive measures to address deviations and optimize performance.
- Serve as a key point of contact for stakeholder interactions, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and building long-term relationships.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, incorporating relevant insights into the company’s operations and service offerings.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within the software development industry in Pakistan and the USA.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, software development processes, and quality assurance principles.
- Demonstrated ability to define and track KPIs, drive performance improvements, and deliver results in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams across functions and geographies.
- Education or work experience in the USA or European countries, with a deep understanding of Western work culture, business practices, and client expectations.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of balancing long-term vision with day-to-day operational realities.
- Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen, with a track record of data-driven decision-making and budget management.
